New South Wales in Australia, said it would soon be possible for robots to
of the future.
For many years, Mr Sammut has been a member of a project called
match.
As he explains, the robots are having difficulty in learning how to control the ball and move the ball on their
own, but he is still full of confidence that one day in the future they will show the same skills as Wayne Rooney,
who is one of the best football players in the world.
Mr Sammut also said,“In 1968, John McCarthy and Donald Michie made a bet with David Levy, who was
then the chess champion in Scotland, that within 10 years a computer program would be able to beat him. It took a
little bit longer than 10 years (nearly 30 years) but eventually such programs came into being.”
“In the same spirit of a grand challenge, RoboCup aims to develop a team of robots that can defeat the world
soccer champion team by the year 2050. To achieve this, or come even closer to the ambition, the robots will have
to be able to sense and act in completely unstructured environments. This will require major advances in
perception(感知), decision making, learning, and cooperative behaviors. Considering robots are integrated
hardware and software systems, great advances will also be needed in sensors (传感器) , energy storage, and
materials.”

The British Museum first opened in the 18th Century largely based on the collections of the scientist Sir Hans
Sloane.
The current neoclassical building was founded nearly a century later and is quadrangular(四角形的)with
four wings and a great classical appearance. Inside is a courtyard, the Great Court, covered with a special
modern addition—a spiraling glass and steel roof which was designed by Norman Foster and completed in 2000.
The courtyard surrounds the round Reading Room with a copper domed(有穹顶的) ceiling the same size as the
dome of St Peter's in Rome.
The museum, one of the oldest in the world, is Britain's largest museum, and widely considered to be one of
the world's greatest museums of human history and culture. The permanent collection is made up of over 8 million
objects spanning the history of the world's cultures from the stone tools of early man to twentieth-century prints.
The collection includes controversial (有争议的) items including the Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon in Greece,
Egyptian mummies and the Rosetta Stone.
The expansion of the museum over the years has resulted in the creation of several branch institutions
including the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. The British Library previously occupied the Reading
Room but in 1997 moved to a new site next to St Pancras Station on Euston Road. There are frequent special
exhibitions of international significance.
Opening Times: The museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. On Fridays it stays open until 8:30
pm. Entry to the museum is free, although a charge may be made for entry to temporary exhibitions.
Address: Great Russell Street, London WClB 3DG.

I prefer my English classes to be taught in English only. What we all know, a good learning environment is of
greatly importance if we want to study English well. Classes teaching in English provide students for a better
environment. When English is an only language in class, students will have more opportunity to practise listening
and speaking. However, there were problems with this method. Sometimes we may find difficult to follow the
teacher and some slow learners may even give up learn English. In spite of these difficulties, but I believe practice
makes perfect. With enough practice, we can overcome the difficulties and benefit from English classes in the long
run.
