We are soldiers
Teaching Objectives:
1. 能听懂会说单词: left, right, turn, soldiers, traffic police.
2. 能在合适的场景中运用句型 “What are we?” “Are you …”。
3. 在活动中增强合作意识及竞争意识。

Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warming up:
T: Boys and girls, I suppose you like to play games, yes? Ok, today we’ll have a match
between Group A and Group B. There are two stars, one is on the left(拼写,个别读) and
one is on the right(拼写,齐读).
Please try to catch the star, OK?
Ss: OK!
T: Look, what’s this? (T catches an eraser in the hand)
Ss: It’s an eraser.
T: Right. Now look, it’s in my one hand. Guess, left or right?
[设计意图:以比赛的活动形式组织课堂教学,学生能激发起高度的参与热情,主动快乐地进入学习状态,竞猜游戏的形式充分调动了每个层次学生的学习兴趣,一开始就吸引了所有学生的注意力,并自然过渡过下个环节的教学。]
Step 2: Presentation
1. T: Congratulations, children. Follow me.
left, right: (听指令伸左右手)
turn left/ right: 顺势通过动作、结合板书教学。Look at me, turn left.
Teach to read the words with action:
left, right, turn left, turn right.
Let’s do the exercises. (做操,A、B组展示)
2. T: You did a very good job. Now, let’s go on our competition: listen and do the action.
Ask 8 students (A B 组各四个) come to the front, listen to the teacher or students’
order and do the action, just as
left, right, turn left, turn right.

Then teach
traffic police in the same way. (板书traffic police)
4. A game: listen and guess.
T: You should listen and point out the words
soldiers, traffic police. Then, use the
sentences: Are you
soldiers/ traffic police? Find out the person. (板书Are you…
Yes, …)
5. Teach the sentences:
What are we? Are you soldiers /traffic police?

6. Open the books and learn the text.
a. Watch the CD-ROM. T: The students in our book are playing the guessing game too. Let’s
watch the CD-ROM.
b. Listen, point and repeat.
c. Read and act follow the teacher.
d. Act the text in groups.

Step 3 Consolidation
1. To know the other job words. Teacher, doctor, nurse, astronaut, driver.
2. Talk about what do you want to be?
T: When I was young, I want to be a policeman. Now tell your classmate, what do you
want to be.
You are very good children, work hard, I believe your dreams will come true. Where there
is a will, there is a way. (有志者,事竟成。)
