Unit 5. In a toy store
Lesson 1 Talk(vocabulary)
I. Teaching contents:
New words: kites video games board games toy cars
comic books yo-yos balloons rockets
II. Teaching goals
The kids can recognize and read the new words.

VIII. Teaching procedure
step 1. Warming up.
Play the children rhymes, and sing a song.
Step 2. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
Step 3. Leading in and review.
Review the words in the last lesson, use cards 25-39. Do
“Touch and say” activity by using cards 25-39.
Step 4. New lesson
1. Presentation.
○T show Ss cards 40-47, read out every word and Ss follow.
2. listen and point
○Ask Ss to open their books, turn to page 34—35, look at
the pictures at the bottom. Play the tape-recorder, Ss listening to
the tape and point at the correct pictures.(two times)
3. listen and repeat.
4. Listen and number
○Check the answer.
○T say a word, Ss find out the toy in the main scene.
○T point at any picture, ask Ss speak out the name of this
toy.
○Ss find the hidden iguana in the picture.
5. Performance.
○Put cards 40—47 on the floor.
T(to student A): Run to the balloons , pick it up and say it.
Repeat the game using other pictures.
6. Homework/Class exercise
○Activity book, page 30
教学反思: video games和toy cars的发音有点难度,在教读时速度较慢,练习的次数也最多,发音基本到位;配合手势练习单词时效果很好,学生对玩具的兴趣很高。
Lesson 2 Talk(Dialogue)
I. Teaching contents:
Sentence pattern:
Which toy car do you want?
The red one.
May I have that comic book, please?
Here you are.
II. Teaching goals
The kids can ask and answer questions by using the first
sentence patterns. Ss can use the third one to ask for some thing
and use the fourth one to give it.
III. Key points: Practice the new sentence patterns.
VI. Difficult point: the way and scene of using the new sentence
patterns
VI. Teaching aids: audiotape , cards 40-47 and some toys.
VII. Type of the lesson: speaking, listening.
VIII. Teaching procedure
Step 1. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
step 2. Warming up.
Use card 40-47 to do “ pass the card” activity.
Step 3. Leading in.
Use card 40-47 to do “Run to it”activity.
Step 4. New lesson
1. Practice dialogue.
○Put some toys on the front of classroom, ask student A
“Which _ do you want?”, other Ss repeat the sentence. Let
Student A point at the toy he want, T ask “what color?” lead
to the answer “red.” T say “The red one.” Ss Repeat.
○T: May I have that comic book, please?(Ss repeat)
A: May I have that comic book, please?
T: Here you are. (A repeat, Ss repeat.)
○T hold up one thing familiar to Ss, ask “what’s this?” lead
Ss answer “it’s_.” T hold up 2 things, ask “what are these?”
let Ss hold up two things and also ask “what are these?” T
answer “they’re_.” let Ss repeat the sentence.
2. listen and point
○Ask Ss to open their books, turn to page 34—35, look at
the scene. Play the tape-recorder, Ss listening to the tape and
point at the correct person, animal or object.
○Listen and repeat.
3. Listen to the story
○T point at Pluto, ask “who’s she?” Lead Ss answer
“Pluto”.The same way ask other heroes in Super kids.
○T “let’s listen.”during listening to every dialogue, let Ss
point at the speaker, then ask Ss repeat dialogue.
4. Listen to the dialogue 1, 2, 3. Divide Ss into two groups,
group A say the first sentence in every dialogue, group B say the
second sentence. Then exchange it.
5. After reading
○Ss practice dialogue 1,dialogue 2 and dialogue3 in pairs
using the new words and the four old words in “review”.
教学反思:本单元的对话1和对话2要算所学过的里面最难的,1班掌握情况还是最好,但2班和3班就比较吃力,将句子拆分并讲解意思之后练习,此项耗时最多,有所成效,在今后的练习中还需渗透练习加以巩固。
Lesson 3 Do it and sing a gram
I. Teaching contents:
Sentence pattern:
Put your marker on Start..
Throw the dice.
Count the dots.
Move your marker.
Go forward 3 spaces
Go back 2 spaces
II. Teaching goals
The kids can understand the orders and do the appropriate
reaction to them. .
III. Key points: Practice the orders.
VI. Difficult point: the correct reaction of Ss
VI. Teaching aids: audiotape, card 40-47, extra page 17.
VII. Type of the lesson: doing, listening.
VIII. Teaching procedure
step 1. Warming up.
Play the children rhymes, and sing a song.
Step 2. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
Step 3. Leading in
Activity: Memory list.
Step 4. New lesson
1. Explanation.
○Show Ss actions when saying orders, then say them again,
ask Ss do actions with T.
○Ss repeat the words and actions.
○T say orders, Ss do actions.
2. Do it.
○Ask Ss to open their books, turn to page 36, look at the
pictures. Play the tape-recorder, Ss listening to the tape and
point at the correct pictures.
○Play recorder once again, ask Ss do actions when listening
to the tape.
○T say orders randomly by using TPR cards, Ss point to the
picture on the book, then do action.
3. Explain “sing a gram”
○Use card 45, 46, 47 and 42 to lead out yo-yos, balloons,
rockets, kites and board games.
○Put card 45, 46, 47 and 42 on the blackboard, play the
tape-recorder, ask Ss to point at the toys on the scene.
○Play the tape again, ask 4 Ss come to the front, each one
hold up one card on blackboard when hearing the correct
contents.
4. After looking at the book.
T ask Ss turn to page 26 and play board game freely.
教学反思:这单元的口令也比较难,制作了PPT图片给学生观看,便于学生理解新单词和新的动作指令,对口令能够作出正确反应和指着相应图片,但耗时较长。

II. Teaching goals
The kids can use sentence pattern to ask and answer. Ss can
sing the song “ What are these?”.
III. Key points: the sentence pattern and the verbs.
VI. Difficult point: the correct words of the nouns.
VI. Teaching aids: audiotape, card 40-47.
VII. Type of the lesson: Singing and doing.
VIII. Teaching procedure
step 1. Warming up.
Play rhymes.
Step 2. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
Step 3. Leading in.
Reduced picture cards bingo activity.
Step 4. New lesson
1. Explanation.
○T hold up card 40 and point at kites, say “these are kites”
lead Ss repeat. T pin this card on the blackboard, walk far away
and point to the picture, say “those are kites” do the same way
about other words.
○T draw a big question mark on the blackboard, point to it
and card 40, ask “what are these?” Ss repeat. T say “they’re
kites.” Ss repeat. T walk far away, point to it and ask “what are
those?” Ss follow. T say “they’re kites.” Ss repeat. The same
way to practice other cards.
2. listen and repeat
○Ask Ss to open their books, turn to page 37, look at part A.
Play the tape-recorder, Ss listening to the tape and follow.
○Play recorder once again, say every number in part A, let
different student say the correct sentence. T say the number
randomly, let Ss say sentences.
3. Listen and repeat
Ss practice every picture in part B in pairs.
4. Listen and check
Play the tape-recorder, let Ss do it.
Check the answer: hands up. When student answer, he/she
should point at the correct picture and say sentence or dialogue.
5. Sing a gram
○Look at the song, play the tape, ask Ss point at the picture
and say the weather words when listening.
○Divide Ss into group A and group B. Give card 45,47 to
group A, and 46,40 to group B. A sing asking sentence, B sing
answer sentence. The students who have the cards hold up when
hearing the right words. Exchange the role.
教学反思:what are these和what are those由于练习次数较多和多次强调,区分得很好,整首歌曲掌握得不错,但最后一句话个别后进生吐字不太清楚。
Lesson 5 Read it
I. Teaching contents: the pronunciation of –s, -s, -es
II. Teaching goals
The kids can pronounce the alphabet at the end of a word.
III. Key points: Practice the pronunciation.
VI. Difficult point: correct the pronunciation .
VI. Teaching aids: audiotape
VII. Type of the lesson: speaking, listening.
VIII. Teaching procedure
Step 1. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
step 2. Warming up.
Draw the alphabet group in unit 4, ask Ss to pronounce them.
Step 3. Leading in.
Show Ss 2 yo-yos, say “yo-yos”, Ss repeat. Write S on the
blackboard, then write yo-yos under it. Hold up one yo-yo,
pronounce it, then hold up 2 yo-yos, and also pronounce them
with -z. Ss repeat. The same way to practice balloons, books,
kites, paintbrushes, witches. .
Step 4. New lesson
1. Listen to the tape.
○Ask Ss open their books and turn to page 38, look at part A.
Play the tape-recorder, Ss point to the correct pictures when
listening,
2. listen and repeat
○Play it once again, then ask student follow the different
pronunciation.
○T say the picture randomly , Ss point to the correct picture.
○Ask Ss turn to page 34 and 35, find out the things ended
with z, s, iz in the main scene.
3. Match
○Ss look at part B on page 38.
○T write the 3 sentences on blackboard then read out them,
Ss match them with lines. T point at the sentence randomly, let
Ss read out.
4. Listen and circle
Check the answer and repeat the pronunciation.
教学反思:尾音s和z的发音掌握较好,但iz这个发音的示例单词paintbrushes较难,经过多次解读发音,有所成效。从作业反馈情况看,基本掌握三个尾音的发音。
Lesson 6 Practice and sing
I. Teaching contents: sentences and the song “ Which toy car do
you want?”
II. Teaching goals
The kids can understand and speak out the sentences; can sing
“Which toy car do you want?”
III. Key points: Practice the sentences and the song
VI. Difficult point: lead Ss speak out the sentences by
themselves.
VI. Teaching aids: audiotape, cards 40-47, a dice, toy cars,
balloons.
VII. Type of the lesson: speaking, singing.
VIII. Teaching procedure
step 1. Warming up.
Ss sing “ What are these?” together.
Step 2. Greeting
Good morning, everyone.
Step 3. Leading in.
T use cards 40-47 to do “Stand up and say it!” T ask “What are
these?”, lead Ss answer “They’re ( ).”
Step 4. New lesson
1. Presentation.
○Ss in pairs, each pair be given a dice. Ss look at page 39. T :
“This is a board game.” Ss put their erasers on Start, then
throw the dice and play. Make sentences after a
pair of Ss performance the dialogue.
A: What are these?
B: They’re kites.
2. listen and follow.
○Play the tape, point at the person when listening to the tape.
○play it once again, Ss speak the sentences together. Ss in
pairs and practice the sentences pointing to the correct toy.
3. sing it
Sing the song and imitate some actions..
教学反思: 这首歌每个句子都较长,而对学生来说最大的难点还在于歌曲中的吞音部分,由于学生都想把每个单词完整地唱出来,但这样会导致跟不上节奏,所以多次反复练习吞音部分,并简单解释了吞音,学生掌握情况总算还是不错。
