PEP小学英语五年级上册Unit4 PartA Let's talk 教学设计

【教学准备】

PPT、图片、课件、教具

【教学目的】

1. 学生能够听懂并掌握对话中出现的单词和短语。

2. 学生能够模仿对话内容进行表演,培养其英语口语能力。

3. 学生能够运用已学的语言知识进行交际。

【教学过程】

Step 1 Warm-up

1. Greetings: Greet students and check attendance.

2. Sing a song: Teach students the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees

and Toes". Let the students stand up and sing with the teacher.

Review body parts.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Show the picture of the cake and ask: "What's this?" Then show

the pictures of the candles and the matches, and ask: "What are

these?" Get the students to answer.

2. Introduce the dialogue: "Let's talk about the cake."

A: Happy birthday, Sarah!

B: Thank you, Lucy.

A: Here's a cake for you.

B: Wow! It's so big.

A: How many candles are there?

B: Eight.

A: OK. Let's light the candles.

B: OK. I can do it. I've got matches.

Step 3 Practice

1. Practice the dialogues with the students. First, the teacher reads

the dialogue out loud and then asks some students to repeat after

the teacher. Then, the teacher asks one student to play the role of A

and another student to play the role of B.

2. Group work. Divide the students into groups of four. Let them

practice the dialogues together.

3. Role play. Let some students come and perform the dialogue in

front of the class. The teacher can also join in the role play to

show examples to the students.

Step 4 Production

1. Give each group a piece of paper and ask them to draw a cake

with candles on it.

2. Let each group choose one student as A and another student as B

to perform the dialogue in front of the class.

3. Let the groups show their cake and count the candles. Each

student should say "Happy Birthday!" to the birthday girl/boy.

Step 5 Assessment

Ask some students to perform the dialogue with the teacher, and

give them some feedback on their pronunciation and intonation.
